Katy Wilson, WHNP-BC
Katy is a board-certified Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner who joined Sweetwater OB/GYN in November 2024, bringing a unique blend of critical care experience and specialized women’s health expertise to the practice.
Originally from Charlotte, North Carolina, Katy graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2017 before relocating to Texas to be closer to family. She spent seven years working in the Pediatric ICU at Texas Children’s Hospital, where she developed a deep commitment to patient-centered care. It was during this time that she discovered her true passion for women’s health, inspiring her to pursue advanced training in the field.
Katy earned her Master of Science in Nursing as a Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner from the University of Alabama at Birmingham in 2023, graduating with a perfect 4.0 GPA. Prior to joining the practice, she dedicated a year to pediatric and adolescent gynecology, further refining her specialized skills.
Her clinical approach centers on empowering women to understand and take charge of their health. Katy specializes in comprehensive wellness care, adolescent gynecology, sexual health counseling, contraception management, and evaluation of abnormal bleeding patterns.
When she’s not caring for patients, Katy enjoys exploring Houston’s vibrant live music scene, traveling to new destinations, sharing memorable meals with loved ones, and spending as much time outdoors as possible. She currently resides in West University with her cat, Stevie Nicks.
